Judge Donna S. Strom grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina where her parents, Ann and Carmen Savoca, still reside.
She graduated cum laude from Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C. in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in history, political science and sociology.
She attended law school at the University of South Carolina and received her juris doctorate in 1984. While in law school, she was Vice President of the Student Bar Association.
She was law clerk to the Honorable Jonathan Z. McKown before accepting a position as staff attorney at the South Carolina Department of Social Services Office of Child Support Enforcement. She served as chief counsel until her election to the Family Court in 1994. Currently she serves on the Commission for Judicial Conduct.
Judge Strom is married to Pete Strom, Jr. and they have two children. They attend Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
