The goal of the Case Management Project is to provide the
counties (Clerks of Court, Magistrates, Circuit Court Judges and their
associated staffs) with a cost effective option for case management technology. The development of this system began with the selection of a proven,
commercially available product that is being tailored to meet the requirements
of the South Carolina Courts. The
customization phase of the effort is nearly complete. The case management system is being tested in three pilot counties before
beginning the statewide rollout. Implementation
includes complete data conversion, data cleansing, and data crosswalking for the
existing legacy system(s) in the counties migrating to the new system. Because SCJD is working very closely with the other local and state
entities of the South Carolina criminal justice system, the NCIC codes were used
for standard tables in the system when appropriate. In addition, training and call center support is being provided by SCJD. The initial modules of this system include:
- General
Sessions Court (Circuit Court)
- Common
Pleas Court (Circuit Court)
- Magistrates
Court
- Jury
Management
- Accounting
