Judge Curtis G. Clark
Curtis G. Clark is the son of Glenn L. and Earline Buzhardt Clark. He was born
in 1953 in McCormick, South Carolina. He is married to Paula McCutheon Clark and
they have four beautiful children. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Clemson
University in 1974, and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School
of Law in 1977. He opened his law practice in Ninety Six, South Carolina, in 1978.
He later moved his law office to Greenwood. He taught Business Law and legal courses
for law enforcement officers at Piedmont Technical College and Lander University.
He served as Associate Judge of Probate for Greenwood County from 1978 to 1986.
He then was elected Probate Judge of Greenwood County and was re-elected four
times, serving from 1987 to 1999. During this time he served on five legislative
committees to review mental health legislation, health care legislation, twice
revise the probate code, and amend probate court fees. He has served as Secretary
and President of the Greenwood County Bar, President of the South Carolina Probate
Judges Association, President of the Ninety Six Chamber of Commerce, and as a
member of the Lander University Board of Visitors. He is a member of St. Paul
United Methodist Church in Ninety Six, where he has had various church offices.
He was elected as Master in Equity for Abbeville County in 2001. He also serves
as Special Referee for the Circuit Courts in Greenwood and other area counties.
