Judge Brenda P. Bennett was born in Beaufort County, South Carolina on November 7, 1947. She is the daughter of Lyman Pitman and the late Margaret Goodman Pitman. She is a graduate of the 1966 class of Allendale-Fairfax High School.
Judge Bennett is a member the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges and initiated the first United Way for Allendale County in 1988 and served as Campaign chairperson.
Judge Bennett clerked for her predecessor Carroll E. Reeves from 1978 to 1980. She was appointed Associate Probate Judge from 1980 to 1986. Thereafter, she was elected as Probate Judge in 1987 and has been re-elected to present.
She married Samuel Roberds in 1968 and they have two children, Samuel Roberds, Jr., and Harold Lyman. Judge Bennett is a member of First Baptist Church.
Her hobbies are Turner Elizabeth (2), Brice Roberds (4 months) and Harold Tucker (4 months).
