Donna P. Cudd was appointed Probate Judge of Union County on March 1, 1989 to complete the term vacated by Marjorie Y. Nichols. Elected in her own right in November, 1990, she was re-elected in 1994, 1998, and nominated unopposed in 2002. Prior to her appointment and election, she served as clerk in Probate Court under Judge Betty B. Greer and as Associate Probate Judge for Union County under Judge Marjorie Y. Nichols.
Judge Cudd is a graduate of Union High School and member of Fairforest Baptist Church, were she sings in the choir. She is married to David Cudd and they have two children, twins, Candice and Jon, who are currently students at Carson-Newman College in Tennessee.
She is a member of the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges and has served on several committees in that association. She has been featured in the Union Daily Times in and article called “Focus on Women”. Judge Cudd was honored by the Union County Veteran’s Affairs Office in appreciation of devoted and valuable services. She also served as volunteer at the Union County Recreation Department as cheerleader coach. She has a longtime association with the Union County Dixie Youth Organization as well as a member of the Union High School Booster Club.
Judge Cudd enjoys reading, traveling, watching most sports, and being with her family.
