Judge Kathy Patterson Zorn is a lifelong resident of Pickens County actually having lived on the same parcel of property all of her life. She is the daughter of the late Mack and Alpha Patterson and has two grown children, Chris and Pam, and one grandchild.
Judge Zorn graduated Furman University with a double major in Accounting and Business after completing an Associate of Arts Degree from Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton in the University Transfer Program. While there she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Society and was presented the “Outstanding Senior” Award in the Associate of Arts Program.
She is a member of both the National College of Probate Judges and South Carolina Association of Probate Judges and a member of the Easley Business and Professional women’s Organization. In addition, she has a Certified Paralegal Degree.
She was the winner of the Republican Primary in June of 2002 and ran unopposed in the General Election of 2002. Zorn became Judge after having served 18 ½ years in the Pickens County Probate Court, first as the Clerk of the Court and then as Associate Probate Judge.
Judge Zorn has been a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens for 38 years, serving as a former Sunday School teacher and Catholic Youth Advisor. She enjoys collecting books, designing Crossstitch, creating scrapbooks, and crafting with stamps along with playing with her grandson.
