Brenda S. Griffith began employment with Saluda County Probate Court in 2000 under the former Probate Judge, The Honorable Margaret N. Upchurch, as clerk
to the Probate Court. Mrs. Griffith was born on June 9, 1952 in Virginia to Howard and Jewell Stapleton. Her father worked as a coal miner and her mother was a homemaker. She has made Saluda County her home for the past 35 years and is married to Gary D. Griffith. They have two (2) children, a daughter, Rebecca, who is married to Jason Mills, and a son, Jason Griffith. Judge Griffith has three (3) grandchildren, Eliza, age 4; twins Sam and Kate, age 8 months.

She graduated from Ninety Six High School and Piedmont Technical College with a degree in Secretarial studies. Judge Griffith worked as a legal assistant prior to coming to the Probate Court.

She is an active member of Zoar United Methodist Church in Saluda County. Her hobbies include spending time with children and grandchildren, traveling,
shopping and being with her friends.
